Renin Substrate I is a fluorogenic substrate for Renin which controls vasoconstriction and blood pressure as part of the Renin-angiotensin system (RAS). This peptide also acts as a substrate for the chymotrypsin-like activity of the 20S proteasome.Activity is quantified by release of free fluorescent 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin (AMC) which excites at 360-380 nm and emits at 440-460 nm.
